Why Switching Matters?

Many people not familiar with “switch stories” term ask what is a big deal with it. Today I found interesting statistics that will give you a picture why switching and writing about it matters. According to The Mac Observer:

“Sales of Macs to first time buyers is up in Apple’s retail stores ‘to about 50 percent,’ according to Apple CFO Peter Oppenheimer in a financial call to analysts covering Apple’s March quarter results. Based on information Apple collected during its most recent buyer survey, interest in the Mac rose significantly outside of the traditional consumer base that already owns at least one Mac.”

Just based on that quote you can imagine how big the switch market actually is. And it is not only about Macs. With the recent release of Windows Vista and Windows 7 on the horizon, there is a lot of interest in finding alternatives to Windows XP in the Microsoft camp. People tend to be more open minded and even Linux Ubuntu finds a lot of new satisfied users.
